About Your Presenter

Chris has spent a decade as an engineer building high volume manufacturing systems, a decade in the trenches doing sales, a decade+ in marketing. He’s personally worked with hundreds of business owners in 100+ industries, interviewed thousands more, worked with thought leaders, industry leaders and the smallest of the small.

His Engineered Marketing methodology has put tens of millions in the pockets of small business owners. He started building manufacturing lines for Ford Motor Company, has made over 100,000 cold calls in sales, hating all but 3 of them and created campaigns across multiple traffic sources. He also completed an Ironman to raise money for cancer research after losing his dad to brain cancer. He is passionate about helping good people build great businesses.

He loves sports, the outdoors, and is from Canada so he speaks funny (eh!). Chris is most proud of his wife, 4 kids and their black lab “Scout”.

Can I ask you a question?

Do you ever get tired of all the marketing hoopla out there? I know I do.

I was talking with my wife about a new business I’m helping her develop. I asked her if she wanted to know about just the glorious side of the business – where it’s a smashing success and she’s helping lots of people and making lots of money – or if she also wanted to know about the other side – the hard work necessary and the obstacles that would come in her way. About the work that doesn’t seem to produce any results, about the doubt, the discouragement, the frustration, the uncertainty.

She thought about it for a second and put a huge grin on her face and said “I just want to know how great it will be and how much it will help people and how much I can make!!!

We both laughed.

She knows it takes hard work. She seen the highs and lows I’ve had. She seen the huge successes clients have had and all the hard work it took to get there.

But that’s what most people want, the vision to become a reality.

Oh how spectacular life would be!!

But to get there takes work. I think that most people don’t know what it takes to get there.

I’ve struggled thinking, should I just talk about the fantasy all the time? About how rosy life will be, about how exciting life will be?

But then I remember when I did an Ironman triathlon. I LOVED the end result of it. I didn’t love all the steps. I didn’t love how painful it was at times. But I appreciated how my coach, Coach Dave, told me about what it would take to complete it.

Finishing the Ironman meant a lot to me. I was doing it for my dad who had passed away from brain cancer. So finishing the Ironman was huge.

If you have something you want to accomplish in your business, if you are doing an Ironman in your business that is important to you, then you should be aware of the stages that you will go through to get there.

When you are aware, you can be ready for it and know it’s just a temporary phase to work through. And that brings hope and excitement. Because when you get through it, you can have the dream you’ve been working so hard for. And it’s worth it.
