Let’s face it, today’s online market place is more competitive than ever. According to the America Marketing Association, “studies show that the average consumer is exposed to up to 10,000 brand messages a day.”

And as marketers are presented with more and more channels to reach their customers, that number is growing rapidly.

But the good news is, everyone is virtually doing the same thing. And better news, they’re not doing it very well.

Consumers switch between screens up to 21 times an hour according to a British study, which correlates with Microsoft’s claim that the average person’s attention span is now just eight seconds.

Crazy isn’t it?

But not really, when I go on to Facebook to do some mindless scrolling (which happens about once per week), I get hit with an ad about every 5th post.

My scrolling experience goes like this . . . “oh, there’s my wife, there’s an ad about how to make millions with a coaching program, there’s my friend from high school, there’s an ad about how to build a hundred million dollar agency.”

The number of marketing messages is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, it leads to some significant problems for business owners: 1) marketing doesn’t work like it used to (results begin to stink); and 2) it’s getting more expensive to get customers.

So what do most business owners do?

They push their message harder. They make more phone calls. They up their advertising budget. They try new traffic sources.

And to get more leads, business owners spend more time and money on the latest traffic technique promising lower costs.

It’s like this . . . push, and then if that doesn’t work, push the ad and traffic source harder.

That is the old way of marketing.

It’s not about getting your message out there.

It’s not about the latest traffic fad or how many impressions you get (although that helps and plays a role).

No, it’s not about these or the many other things business owners do.

There’s a new revolutionary shift in marketing.

It’s about having a way to meet people where they’re at, to engage them, to lead them, to nurture them, to have them want to spend time with you.

It’s about “reinventing” and “re-engineering” your entire marketing process for the better. It’s about changing the game so that prospects come to you – presold and predisposed to buy from you.
